Business Transformation Consulting That Stays Through Implementation.
Scope, duration and commitment for each. What an engagement costs depends on the size of your business and the work the diagnosis actually finds, so we quote it after we understand both.
Taylor Partners runs four engagements. The Owner's Business Diagnostic is a fixed-fee assessment over three to six weeks. The 90-Day Transformation Sprint is a milestone-based build over two to four months. Strategy Partner is a monthly advisory retainer for companies that execute in-house. Operating Partner is the full monthly retainer.

What Is Business Transformation?
Business transformation is a coordinated change to how a company creates and delivers value. It can involve strategy, roles, processes, technology, customer experience and management systems. The goal is a measurable improvement in how the business performs—not a technology rollout for its own sake.
Start With the Business Outcome
- Define the result: growth, margin, service quality, cycle time, visibility or reduced owner dependence.
- Record the current baseline and identify where the constraint actually sits.
- Map the work, decisions and handoffs that shape the customer and employee experience.
Then Change the System Around It
- Decide whether the answer is process redesign, role clarity, training, data, existing software, automation or a new build.
- Pilot the change with a named owner, clear measures, training and a fallback plan.
- Scale after adoption and business results are visible; adjust when the evidence disagrees with the plan.
For Canadian companies: define whether the change is meant to improve domestic performance, prepare the business for cross-border growth, or both. Map provincial and customer-specific requirements with qualified advisors where they apply.

Request a Discovery CallHow to Transform a Business With Digital Tools
Digital transformation works when tools support a redesigned business process and a clear outcome. Buying software before diagnosing the work often digitises the same delays and confusion.
- Choose an outcome. Set a baseline for the cost, time, quality, revenue or customer experience you want to change.
- Understand the current work. Map how information, decisions and exceptions move between people and systems.
- Redesign before selecting tools. Remove unnecessary steps and define ownership, controls and the desired workflow.
- Choose the lightest suitable technology. Compare existing software, configuration, integration, automation and custom development against the actual requirements.
- Pilot and train. Assign a business owner, support adoption, protect sensitive data and test exceptions before broad rollout.
- Measure and improve. Track adoption and business outcomes together; scale only when the process is working in practice.
AI and automation belong in this sequence when they solve a verified problem. They are not the starting requirement for every transformation.

What Successful Technology Transformations Can Teach
Microsoft: Repositioning Around Cloud and Productivity
Microsoft’s 2015 annual report describes a mobile-first, cloud-first strategy supported by product development milestones and organizational changes. Its 2016 annual report reported commercial cloud annualized revenue run rate above $12.1 billion, up more than 50% year over year. The lesson for a smaller company is to align priorities, operating structure and investment behind the chosen direction—and to measure the business adoption that follows.
Adobe: Changing How Creative Software Is Delivered
Adobe documents its move to a subscription model for its creative products; its 2023 annual report describes Creative Cloud as a cloud-based subscription offering. This illustrates how transformation can reach beyond technology to change packaging, delivery and the ongoing customer relationship. The lesson is to design the business model and customer value together with the platform.
These are public-company examples, not Taylor Partners client results or templates to copy. They show different transformation choices; the right sequence for another company depends on its market, economics, capabilities and constraints.

Consulting Engagements, Done With You
We work inside your business: diagnosing the constraint, building the plan, and staying through implementation. This is the hands-on side of Taylor Partners — retainers, first-year programs and scoped builds.

Request a Discovery CallThe Four Engagements
Owner's Business Diagnostic
Fixed Fee 3–6 weeks · 50% on start, 50% on delivery · stands aloneA company-wide assessment of where value is being lost, constrained or left unrealised, and what to do about it first. Owner, executive, management, employee, customer and vendor interviews read against your own economics.
You leave with a strategic issue map, an opportunity prioritisation matrix, a 12-month roadmap, an investment model and a sequencing plan. It stands alone — there is no obligation to continue.
Scoped on company size, number of sites and how much of the financial detail already exists.
90-Day Transformation Sprint
Milestone-Based Build 2–4 months · staged payments · stop at any milestoneExecution of the first high-priority initiatives from the roadmap. Operating workflow redesign, revenue system build, applied AI deployment or custom internal software — whichever the diagnostic identified as binding.
The deliverable is working systems in production with your people using them, plus the measures that show whether they are working.
Scoped on the number of workstreams and whether custom software is in the build.
Strategy Partner
Monthly Retainer Strategy only · 6-month minimum · monthly in advanceFor companies that already have the team to execute. You get the diagnosis, the roadmap, the prioritisation and a senior thinking partner in quarterly planning. Your people build it.
We would rather stay in the build, because that is where most engagements come apart. But if you have a capable operations lead with genuine capacity, advice-only is a legitimate structure and we are not going to pretend otherwise to sell you a bigger engagement.
Includes monthly working sessions, quarterly planning and access between sessions. Excludes build work, channel development and anything we would have to execute ourselves.
Operating Partner
Monthly Retainer Full engagement · 6-month minimum, 12 preferred · monthly in advanceOngoing value creation across growth, margin, operations, AI and organisation. The transformation backlog gets worked, the systems get maintained and extended, channel relationships keep developing, and the quarterly plan gets made against the roadmap rather than against the calendar.
This is the engagement most clients settle into, and it is where the compounding happens.
A larger Transformation Partner engagement is available where several workstreams need to run at once.

Request a Discovery CallA Typical First Year
The standard path is a diagnostic, then a sprint on whatever the diagnostic found was binding, then the Operating Partner retainer once there is a system worth maintaining. Major builds and channel work are scoped separately as they arise.
Most companies take that route, but it is not a package. Plenty of engagements stop after the diagnostic, either because the roadmap is something the client's own team can execute or because we did not find enough to justify going further. Both are legitimate places to finish.
We will give you a number on the discovery call, once we know the size of the business and roughly what we would be walking into.

These are the items that routinely appear after signature elsewhere. Ours are stated up front, whether they are ours to bill or yours to pay directly.
- Cloud infrastructure and compute for anything we build
- Third-party API, platform and licence fees
- Post-launch support and maintenance
- Your own team's time, estimated in hours, by role
- Data preparation, labelling and governance
Platform, hosting, API and third-party costs are paid by the client directly rather than marked up through us. We hold no reseller or partner commissions, which means the technology recommendation is not an incentive.

Request a Discovery CallFyrnwell, for Companies Not Yet Ready for an Engagement
Fyrnwell is a self-serve platform carrying the same diagnostic method, for owner-led businesses that have outgrown informal management but cannot justify a consulting retainer. Available now.
There is a wide gap between business software you operate yourself and a consulting engagement that starts in the tens of thousands. Most companies between roughly $500K and $20M in revenue sit in it. They are run through spreadsheets, email, disconnected software and the owner’s own memory; they suspect AI or automation would help without knowing what is worth doing; and the problem has outgrown a course, a template or a chatbot.
Fyrnwell is that method as software. It assesses the business across sales, marketing, operations, finance, people, technology, customer experience and strategy, then surfaces what is actually happening rather than a list of generic ideas.
Diagnose
A structured assessment across every function, refreshed continuously rather than once a year. It surfaces margin drift, pipeline concentration, rising acquisition cost, churn, capacity strain and customer concentration while they are still cheap to fix.
Prioritise
Opportunities and risks ranked on return, cash required, capacity, implementation complexity, time to value and strategic importance — with the consequence of each option explained, not just the recommendation.
Decide
An advisor grounded in your own business information rather than general advice, plus comparable situations: what similar companies tried, what worked, what failed, and what to adapt.
Execute
Recommendation becomes project, tasks, owner, deadline and KPI — then the system checks whether it worked. That closed loop is the point. Advice that stops at the recommendation is the problem we exist to solve.
It also answers the AI question honestly, which most tools will not: use an existing product here, automate this workflow, integrate these two systems, leave this alone, and build something custom only where the return justifies it.
When a problem outgrows self-service, the platform hands it to us with the company’s history already in place, so an engagement starts from evidence rather than from a blank page.

Request a Discovery CallQuestions About Business Transformation
What Does Business Transformation Mean?
Business transformation is a coordinated change to a company’s strategy, operating model, processes, people, technology or management systems to improve how it performs and serves customers. It is measured by business outcomes and adoption, not by the number of tools installed.
How Can a Canadian Business Transform Using Digital Tools?
Start with a measurable business problem, map the work and decisions involved, redesign the process, then choose appropriate software, integration, automation or custom development. Pilot with a named owner, train the people doing the work, and measure adoption and business results before scaling.
How Is Digital Transformation Different From Business Transformation?
Digital transformation uses technology and data to change how a business operates or serves customers. Business transformation is broader: it may also change strategy, roles, processes, decision rights, incentives and the operating model. Technology is one possible enabler, not the whole transformation.
What Are Successful Transformation Stories in the Technology Industry?
Microsoft’s public reports describe a mobile-first, cloud-first strategic shift, organizational changes and later growth in its commercial cloud business. Adobe describes moving creative products to a subscription model. These examples show different ways strategy, operating choices and product delivery can change together; they are public examples, not Taylor Partners client results.
How Does Taylor Partners Measure a Successful Transformation?
Taylor Partners starts with an agreed baseline and target business outcomes, such as revenue, margin, productivity, cycle time, quality, customer experience, visibility or owner dependence. The team also checks whether people adopt the new process or system and adjusts when results do not match the intended outcome.
What Does Taylor Partners Do in a Business Transformation?
Taylor Partners diagnoses the constraint, sets priorities and an investment sequence, then helps design and implement the required changes. Depending on the need, work can include operating redesign, AI or automation, software, revenue systems, organizational changes and ongoing execution support.
Who Is a Good Fit for Taylor Partners’ Transformation Services in Canada?
Taylor Partners is an Ontario-based operating-partner firm designed for owner-led companies, generally around $5 million to $75 million in revenue, that need help moving from a business diagnosis to implemented change. Canadian companies seeking only a software vendor or stand-alone legal, tax or regulatory advice may need a different provider.
How Long Does a Business Transformation Take?
It depends on scope and readiness. Taylor Partners offers a standalone diagnostic typically lasting 3–6 weeks and a milestone-based transformation sprint designed around a 90-day build, which may take 2–4 months depending on scope. Broader changes may continue through an operating partnership.

Request a Discovery CallQuestions About Engagements
Why Is There No Pricing on This Page?
Because a number without context is not useful to either of us. The same engagement name covers very different amounts of work across a twelve-person shop and a two-hundred-person one. We would rather spend thirty minutes understanding what you are actually dealing with and then give you a real number than publish a range wide enough to be meaningless. You will have that number on the first call, not the third.
When Will I Know What It Costs?
On the discovery call. We are not going to make you sit through a diagnostic proposal process to find out whether we are in your range.
Do You Bill Hourly?
No. Every engagement is fixed-fee, milestone-based or monthly retainer. Hourly billing rewards the wrong thing and makes clients ration access to the person they hired.
Do You Work on Performance or Gainshare?
Selectively, on margin improvement work where the baseline can be cleanly established and the savings independently verified. We do not offer gainshare where we cannot agree a defensible baseline before starting, because neither of us would be able to tell afterwards what we had earned.
What Is Not Included in the Retainer?
The retainer covers strategy, prioritisation, leadership support, oversight and lighter implementation. Major software builds, company-wide AI systems, international expansion programs and large transformations are scoped separately.
Can We Hire You for Strategy Only?
Yes — that is the Strategy Partner engagement. The caveat worth stating is that roughly a third to a half of consulting recommendations are never implemented, and the usual reason is that nobody internal had the capacity. If that describes your business, strategy-only will produce a document rather than a change. If you have a capable operations lead with room, it works well.
Will You Actually Introduce Us to People?
Yes, where we have the relationship, and we will sit in the first meetings. Where we do not have it, we build the approach with you rather than handing over a target list. The relationship transfers to your team before we step back — we are not trying to sit between you and your channel.
What if It Does Not Work?
The diagnostic is the low-commitment way to find that out, which is why it is structured as a standalone engagement. During a build, milestones exist precisely so you can stop. The retainer runs on a six-month minimum and then month to month.
