Taylor Partners · About
An Operator Who Consults, Not a Consultant Who Reads About Operations.
Taylor Partners was founded by someone who still runs a real business, with real trucks, real staff, real claims and a real P&L, and who kept watching good advice die on the way to the shop floor.
Taylor Partners is led by founder Jack Taylor, who holds an operating role at Taylor Moving & Storage, an award-winning Ontario relocation company, and is actively building and operating ventures across mortgage distribution, relocation technology, household financial coordination and global mobility. The firm was founded on the observation that most consulting recommendations are never implemented.

The founding observation was not original, but it was first-hand. Running operations inside a company that competes in a high-consequence service category, the problem was never a shortage of ideas about what to improve. It was that improvement requires somebody with capacity, authority and follow-through, and every business that needs it most is precisely the business that has none of the three to spare.
So the work started internally: mapping non-value-added coordination, designing the data capture, building the software the business needed because nothing off the shelf matched how the work actually ran. The method came out of that, and it has since been applied to a mortgage organisation, an industrial equipment manufacturer and several ventures built from scratch.

Request a Discovery CallThe Operator Credential
Most people advising mid-market companies on operations have never carried an operating number. The difference shows up in the specifics: what a coordinator's day actually contains, what happens when a crew is short on a Friday, why a process that looks efficient on a map produces claims in practice, how much of a margin problem is really a quoting problem.
Taylor Moving & Storage is a family business in which the founder holds an operating role. That is a related party, and it is disclosed on every case study on this site. It is also the reason the advice is specific.
- Corporate sales, marketing and systems improvement at an award-winning Ontario relocation company
- Former mortgage broker, which is where the coordination problem behind My Finance Team came from
- Built and shipped operating software, AI systems and customer platforms rather than specified them
- Currently founding, pricing, selling and testing ventures across four distinct buyer markets

Request a Discovery CallStill Selling, Still Being Told No
The credential most advisory firms cannot claim is a current one.
Alongside client engagements, we are building and operating our own ventures. That means writing outbound sequences that do not land, setting prices that turn out to be wrong, running discovery calls with buyers who have no obligation to be polite, and rewriting offers that did not survive contact with the market.
It is happening right now across four distinct buyers: mortgage agents and the brokerages that recruit them, corporate relocation managers and the companies that buy managed moves, households coordinating professional advisors, and relocation management companies buying mobility intelligence. Four sales motions, four pricing models, four sets of objections.
The reason this belongs on an About page rather than a portfolio page is that it changes what our advice is worth. Every recommendation we make is one we are currently testing with our own money against buyers who can say no. An advisor who last sold something five years ago is working from memory, and the parts of selling that changed most in five years are exactly the parts owners need help with.
Our ventures are disclosed individually on the evidence page, separately from client work, with their stage and what is and is not yet proven.

Efficiency That Does Not Create Capacity Is Just Cost Cutting
Taking cost out of a business is the easy half. If the hours you free up do not go into work that grows the company, you have made it smaller, not better.
The Technology Decision Comes Last
Choosing the platform before understanding the business is how companies end up paying to automate a process that should have been deleted. We are platform-neutral and take no reseller commissions.
Most People Problems Are System Problems
People generally behave rationally inside the incentives and information they are given. If the same failure recurs across different people, the problem is not the people.
A Rebuilt Offer with No Channel Is a Better Product in a Small Pond
Improving what you sell without opening where you sell it is half a job. Relationships and distribution are part of the engagement, not something we hand back to you as a target list.
A Number You Cannot Source Is Worse Than No Number
Unverifiable claims collapse the moment a buyer, lender or acquirer looks closely. We mark our own evidence honestly and expect to be held to the same standard we apply to yours.

Based in Burlington, Ontario, serving the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, the Golden Horseshoe and southwestern Ontario in person, and the rest of Canada remotely.
We are sector-agnostic by design. Experience spans relocation and logistics, mortgage and financial services, industrial equipment manufacturing and global mobility. What those have in common is not an industry — it is a company shape: owner-led, growing, and running on systems built for a smaller version of the business.
